  • We would like to remind ourselves by building up the monument that a significant part of our lives, memories of our childhood and the first real values of life have nothing to do with politics or the "great narrations".When Nino Raspudic (the member of urban movement in Mostar and responsible for the statue), was giving his lecture in the opening ceremony for the Bruce Lee statue in Mostar (city in Bosnia and Herzegovina) November 2005, he did not realise that he was criticizing the idea of multiculturalism in Western Europe. He did not know that Vijay Prashad, in his book "Everybody Was Kung Fu Fighting", uses Bruce Lee as one the best examples to define multiple identity, as opposed to the belief of a purity withinin culture, which multiculturalists subscribe to. He did not even know that the Bruce Lee statue would be vandalized a few hours after the ceremony, and will not show up in Mostar for six years until February 9th 2011, when I brought it back to the public for one day.
