Anmärkning: Allmän Donation Audio cab is an art work by Imogen Stidworthy. A cd was installed in taxis in Luton during September and October 2005, which could be booked, or discovered by chance. This DVD tracks an audio cab journey from Luton Station to Dunstable Downs. The work developed out of a series of taxi journeys to two historic sites. De Grey mausoleum and Dunstable Downs were used as locations in which to record conversations between the taxi drivers and the artist. The sites provoked strong associations and memories of people and places, of England, India, Pakistan or, most often, Kashmir. In Audio Cab, these voices and other recorded sounds create an interplay between different kinds of space; physical, linguistic, geographical, cultural or imagined.
