*500  $aI dokumentärfilmen Kids (group D) får vi möta 13 barn födda åren kring Tjernobylolyckan. Deras familjer bodde i städerna kring atomkraftverket och evakuerades efter haveriet. Barnens ID-status kallas Tjernobyl, grupp D, där bokstaven D står för barn. Intervjuerna i dokumentären lyfter fram barnens minnen från olyckan och händelserna därefter - minnen som är konstruerade genom information de fått via familj, skola och massmedia. Ungdomarnas reflektioner, ur ett tonårsperspektiv, visar upp deras bild av händelserna kring en katastrof de själva aldrig upplevt och hur den har påverkat deras egen generation, i kontrast till mediebilden vi är vana vid. Ungdomarna berättar om sina tankar och drömmar om framtiden och hur samhället bemöter dom. Alexander Vaindorf bodde tillsammans med ungdomarna på sanatoriet Primorje vid Svarta havet sommaren 1999.
*500  $aA film with and about Chernobyl kids, reflecting on reality from a teenage perspective, the reality forced upon them by the events they never experienced. Kids (group D) is filmed in Ukraine during summer of 1999 in a sanatorium where I lived for one month among the kids who have a Chernobyl status ID, group D (D stands for "child"). Their families lived in the areas around the Chernobyl Power Plant and after the explosion were evacuated to various different cities.
 All of the 13 kids in the film were born right before or after the accident and their memory is a construction of the information from their families, media and school. The story shows "their" idea about the events after the disaster and how it has affected their generation. In contrast to the media-image, the kids look like any other teenagers and talk about their thoughts for the future, as well as the response of society towards them.
