Anmärkning: Allmän Edward Said was born in Jerusalem in 1935. Internationally acclaimed for his books on literature, politics and the intersection of politics and culture, Said was the most prominent spokesman for the Palestinian cause outside the Middle East as well as an accomplished musician. Diagnosed with incurable leukemia in 1991, Said stopped giving interviews. But in November 2002, less than a year before he died, he made a final exception and over the course of three days spoke with unparalleled intimacy about his life, illness and work.
