So said the German Press Agency in regards to Hatje Cantz's Helsinki School series, which collects work by some of the most innovative young photographers in practice today--all newly emerging graduates of the influential University of Art and Design in Helsinki, a school that teaches its students not only how to think about photography, but how to use the camera as a conceptual tool. While some of the original members of the Helsinki School have already gone on to international acclaim--Ola Kolehmainen, Janne Lehtinen, Jyrki Parantainen and Elina Brotherus, among them--this third volume in the series introduces 30 new and exciting names.
