Text by Anais Nin. Chicago and Nin formed a personal friendship and professional alliance that was still going strong by the time of Nin's death. Chicago's sensuous watercolour images were the perfect accompaniment to Nin's highly erotic prose, and were borne out of her relationship with Nin and their attempts to realise their common goal - freedom for female self-expression, unfettered by the constraints of patriarchal posturing.
