Anmärkning: Allmän Un chien andalou (1929) -- L'age d'or (1930) -- A propósito de Buñuel / José Luis López-Linares, Javier Rioyo (2000) Luis Buñuel and Salvador Dalí are today considered two of the greatest among filmmakers and artists with their highly surrealist films. Un Chien Andalou consists of seventeen minutes of bizarre and surreal images that may or may not mean anything. A straight razor seems to be placed by a woman's eye, a small cloud formation obscures the moon, a cow's eye is slit open, a man pokes at a severed hand in the street with his cane, and live priests, and a man's hand has a hole in the palm from which ants emerge. In L'Âge d'or a man and a woman are passionately in love with one another, but their attempts to consummate that passion are constantly thwarted, by their families, the Church and bourgeois society.
